Abstract
MHD processes in melts arising under the action of a superposition of two frequency-modulated or harmonic rotating magnetic fields are described in the induction-free approximation using the "external" friction model. The results of "hot" experiments performed with 1080 steel and "cold" experiments performed with an InGaSn eutectic alloy, which model the former by all MHD criteria, are discussed.
