Abstract

Fifteen metric traits and seven discrete traits have been used to describe and discriminate the biological characteristics of the mandible of three indigenous populations in Israel and Sinai (Israel: two samples, N=176; Sinai: one sample, N=23). Analysis of the three samples indicates that metric and non-metric traits are affected by the genetic process of isolation and by environmental factors to a similar degree.
