Abstract

The organopalladium(II) complex 1 is reduced by methanol to the hydrido-bridged Pd(I) complex 2, which was crystallographically characterized. A mechanism involving electrophilic attack of a cationic palladium hydride intermediate on a Pd(0) carbonyl complex is indicated.
