Abstract
Meniscal repair provides improved long-term outcomes when compared with partial meniscectomy; however, complication rates as high as 18% have been reported. Accurate diagnosis, clear indications, proper patient selection, an in-depth understanding of the anatomy of the knee, appropriate repair technique, proper rehabilitation protocol, and frequent postoperative follow up are all crucial for minimizing the risks of complications and avoiding inferior outcomes. This chapter reviews the complications of meniscal repair in the setting of preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management.
