Abstract

The dissipation of samples of YBaCuO ceramics presenting various grain sizes was measured under medium range magnetic field (0 à 8000 Gauss). In this range a pure dissipation behaviour of either Josephson junctions or creep, or flow is usually never observed, even for values of the mean Lorentz force ranging over two orders of magnitude. It is possible to account for the observed dissipation by the combination of two elementary processes either in a serial scheme, observed in the case of small grain sizes, or a parallel scheme observed in the case of large grains. In this last situation, the flow which is not fully developped in this range of field, exhibits a dissipation dependence proportional to the magnetic field and to the square of the current density.
