Abstract

The primary structure that provides stability to the medial side of the knee during valgus loads is the medial collateral ligament (MCL) complex. In this chapter key anatomy of this ligament is reviewed, a stepwise clinical assessment to recognize medial side instability is suggested, and surgical techniques to address medial instability are discussed.
