Abstract

Preliminary data support the potential of the LDA microscope technique to measure flow characteristics within small vessels. In addition, measurement of the amplitude of the Doppler signal may reflect the concentration of red blood cells within the LDA sensing volume. Therefore, it may at the same time be possible to obtain the relative concentration distribution of red blood cells within the vessel by the LDA technique.
