Abstract

Third order nonlinearity in PbMoO4 was investigated via phase conjugation in a degenerate four-wave mixing configuration. The sign of the diagonal elements of the χ(3) tensor of this crystal was found to be negative. Their magnitude is close to the magnitude of the χ(3) of CS2.
