Abstract

Third order nonlinearity in PbMoO₄ was investigated via phase conjugation in a degenerate four-wave mixing configuration. The sign of the diagonal elements of the χ⁽³⁾ tensor of this crystal was found to be negative. Their magnitude is close to the magnitude of the χ⁽³⁾ of CS₂.
