Abstract

We present numerical data for the mass and derivative dα/dg2 of the string tension in the 3-dimensional U(1) lattice gauge theory model with Villain action. They were obtained by a Monte Carlo computation for the dually transformed model and are in satisfactory agreement with theoretical predictions.
