Abstract
Modern endodontics implemented usage of magnification devices enabling the practitioners to magnify a specified treatment field. Thus, the use of magnification devices in endodontics is becoming more and more common, with the aim of improving the quality of treatment. Since the introduction of magnification devices to endodontics, new techniques for root canal and root-end therapy were developed, and endodontics is to a large extent perceived as a microsurgical procedure. The traditional endodontic practice was restricted due to limited availability of visual enhancement accessories. The inability to identify and adequately treat the entire root canal system is a manor cause for treatment failure. The basic principle of microsurgery is that the surgeon’s hands can execute remarkable micromanipulations as long as the surgeon’s eyes can see magnified operation field. (From article)
