N2 - Multiple-scale and spectral (Galerkin) techniques are employed to analyze the long-wave stability of a two-dimensional array of triangular eddies. It is shown that this system being effectively isotropic and stable at finite Reynolds numbers fails to be such at large Reynolds numbers.
