Abstract
The paper analyzes the relations human beings and the outer world as art is able to express them. It contrasts the moments when the two terms tend to fuse, and those when the idea of separation is stronger. The chosen example is that of art in Israël and of the painting of the landscapes of Tel Aviv. It shows a succession of phases of fusion and separation, explained by the prevailing context at the time of their genesis.
