Abstract
Experimental results are presented concerning the proton-beam pumping of He:Kr:F2 and Kr:F2 laser mixtures. An energy output of 40 J/liter at an efficiency of 8.5 percent is obtained for an optimal mixture of He:Kr:F2 = 230:66:1 at a pressure of 2.3 atm. The efficiency was approximately 8 percent for the binary mixture. The results obtained are found to agree with qualitative determinations and with numerical calculations.
