Abstract

Pulsed dye-laser irradiation of suprrsonically cooled Mn2(CO)10 and Fe3(CO)12 in the 3800-5000 Å wavelength range induces collision-free multiphoton dissociation/ionization processes. The ionic fragments generated are the metal species M+, M+2 and M+3 exclusively.
