Abstract

We report the growth and the characterization of novel Ce 2.2Bi0.8Fe5O12-(Ce:BiIG) epitaxial thin films. By using a magneto-optical set-up in a transmission geometry, we recorded the highest Faraday rotation ever reported for magneto-optical garnet thin films, i.e. 0.55degrees/μm @1550 nm.
