Abstract

Incisional or ventral hernias following cesarean sections are rare. We describe a primigravida with known bronchiectasis who underwent a cesarean delivery following an unremarkable twin gestation achieved by in vitro fertilization. An incarcerated interstitial intraparietal hernia was diagnosed on postoperative day 8. The incarcerated loop was released by laparoscopy. The contributing factors for this formation were chronic cough as a result of pre-existing bronchiectasis and possibly closure of the parietal peritoneum during the cesarean section.
