Abstract
The search for clinical outcomes associated with antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) has been ongoing for a decade. This article focuses on the clinical rise of tests for the detection of aPL. A review of the current thinking regarding the pathophysiology of antiphospholipid syndromes is relevant to the discussion of different aPL assays and methodologies. The value of aPL testing in specified patient populations is analyzed.
