Abstract

This article distinguishes, in the framework of the bio-psycho-social theory, between the social and the cultural field, in the evolution of child psychopathology. At the social level, we first present the peculiarity of the evolution of the idea of death in children in Israel, in comparison with other countries. Then, we analyze the impact of particular social groups such as the 2nd and 3rd generation of the Holocaust and the Kibbutz children. At the cultural level, we examine the psychopathological reactions of acculturation, using as a model the last arrivals from Ethiopia. The clinic confronts us on various occasions in this survey with the hysterical syndrome which we attempt to analyze here in its function of 'non-said'.
