Abstract

The magnetic-field dependence of the critical current (Formula presented)(H) is considered for a short Josephson junction with the critical current density (Formula presented) alternating along the tunnel contact. Two model cases, periodic and randomly alternating (Formula presented), are treated in detail. Recent experimental data on (Formula presented)(H) for grain-boundary Josephson junctions in (Formula presented)(Formula presented)(Formula presented) are discussed.
