Abstract

Novel isotactic polymethoxy-1-alkenes 2-5 were isolated from the tolytoxin-producing blue-green alga Scytonema ocellatum. The gross structures and relative configurations were determined by NMR and mass spectral analysis. Synthesis of optically active 2-4 in a stereocontrolled manner established their absolute configurations.
