Abstract

2 Patients with malignant melanoma of the ciliary body who underwent iridocyclectomy are described. In this operation the tumor is radically resected along with part of the adjacent ciliary body, iris, choroid and sclera. During a follow-up of 11 1/2 and one year respectively, there have been no signs of recurrence, metastases or deterioration of retinal function. Iridocyclectomy may be the treatment of choice of malignant melanomas of the choroidal and ciliary body.
