N2 - An interplay of the Aharonov-Bohm phase and the Berry phase appears as a fluxon circulates an extended (quantum) charge distribution. For a fluxon-charge system in a superconductor, we will show how the interplay of the phases leads to a net topological effect. The realization of the effect in the Higgs model is discussed.
