Abstract
An infrared photonic crystal fiber made by multiple extrusions of silver halide crystalline materials was discussed. The core of the fiber is found to be consisted of pure AgBr, and the cladding area included fiberoptic element made of AgCl (with lower refractive index). The analysis showed that the fibers behaved as core-clad structures with an effective core diameter 200 μm.
