Abstract

An infrared radiometric temperature sensor based on multimode silver halide optical fibres was used for non-contact temperature monitoring during drilling and lathing. This sensor provides non-contact temperature measurements with an accuracy of +or-0.2 degrees C and can be useful for monitoring of machining procedures.
