Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of the general properties of the governing equations for forced laminar flow past flat plates parallel to the flow at infinity. Heat generated by viscous dissipative terms is taken into account, but the pressure gradient is assumed to be zero, and the effect of buoyancy to be negligible. Calculations were performed to eliminate spurious trends in the temperature distributions. Graphs are presented to illustrate the solutions obtained.
