Abstract

This article summarizes the normal biodistribution of 18F fluorodeoxyglucose in the pelvis, physiologic changes in the female reproductive system and benign adnexal and uterine lesions which may be associated with increased tracer uptake that should be appreciated when PET/CT studies of female patients, mainly those with gynecologic malignancies are reviewed.
