Abstract

In summary, we highlight the occurrence of icodextrin-induced sterile peritonitis in Israel and describe its features. Physicians treating patients on PD should be aware of the entity, particularly when faced with a case of culture-negative peritonitis of mild symptomatology and with a predominance of monocytes. Prolonged antibiotic therapy and/or catheter removal may thus be avoided.
