Abstract
Hypofibrinogenemia, as part of a generalized disseminated intravascular coagulation, is a well known complication in obstetrics. It was reported to be present in cases of separation of the placenta, retained dead fetus, amniotic fluid emboli, eclampsia, and in saline induced abortions. It was also found to be present in another rare condition, postpartum hemolytic uremic syndrome. The author describes a case of hydatidiform mole in which hypofibrinogenemia was observed.
