Abstract
Intravenous fluorescein angiography is a useful and commonly performed diagnostic procedure. Although relatively rare, hypersensitivity reactions to fluorescein can cause considerable morbidity and even death. The mechanism underlying these reactions is not well understood. We present a case of hypersensitivity reaction. The relevant literature is reviewed and possible mechanisms are discussed.
