High pt quasi-exclusive scattering with resonance production

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

We measured exclusive resonance production at large pt in nuclei. We bombarded C and CD2 targets with 6 and 7.5 GeV/c protons and detected three charged particle events, two of which with high pt. We present missing energy distributions which show a clear quasi-exclusive peak (a reaction on a neutron in the nucleus) and invariant mass distributions for those quasi-exclusive events. Results for C and D targets are compared and the relation to color transparency is discussed.
