Abstract

An adult male, asthmatic since childhood and for many years on steroid medication, had chickenpox when he was a young boy and again at the age of 40. During this last episode he was found to have a granulomatous lesion with necrosis in the liver. After clinical and biochemical regression of the acute illness, a cholecystectomy was performed for the removal of biliary calculi. At this stage the liver was found to be normal.
