Hemolytic uremic syndrome due to pneumococcal sepsis

Abstract

Hemolytic uremic syndrome associated with pneumococcal sepsis is described in a 3 month old girl. Gradual improvement following peritoneal dialysis was observed. Aspirin and dipyridamole treatments were of no obvious benefit. Complete recovery of kidney functions was achieved over a period of six months.
