Abstract

The Cenomanian chalk formations are distinguished by high densities, low porosities and high compressive strengths. The Senonian rocks show low to medium values for these parameters. The Eocene chalks are characterized by low densities, high porosities and medium strength. Various uses of the chalks in the past, present and future are discussed. -from Authors
