Generation of Pulses with Dynamic Polarization Evolution Using Time-Varying Epsilon-Near-Zero Metasurface

Abstract

We simulate the generation of sub-picosecond pulses with dynamically evolving polarization state using time-varying epsilon-near-zero metasurface. The instantaneous polarization of such pulses can evolve and return to the original state. This evolution includes linear, elliptical, and circular polarizations, spanning controllable traces on the Poincaré sphere.
