Abstract

Three of 30 children with duodenal or gastric ulcers underwent subtotal gastrectomy. All 3 had bleeding ulcers and were over 10 years of age. Peptic ulcer has become more frequently diagnosed in childhood in the last decade. More aggressive surgery is the treatment of choice in the complicated ulcer.
