From Hysteria to Borderline Personality Disorder the Century In-between 1898-1998

In the past hundred years, the map of psychic disorders has undergone a significant change in composition, one of its dominant aspects the change in emphasis from hysteria as a representative of neurosis to borderline personality disorder. The authors suggest that the process by which the borderline personality has taken the center of the psychiatric and psychoanalytic stage in recent years is the result of changes that have taken place both in the structure of society and in human behavior. This study tries to better understand the possible dynamics that influenced and tuned such changes, as well as the significance of this for the next generation.
