Frequency dependence of charge imbalance relaxation

Abstract

A frequency-dependent charge imbalance relaxation rate near Tc is calculated in the presence of magnetic impurities in the gap regime (>>, where is the pair-breaking rate) and in the gapless regime (<<). In the former regime without magnetic impurities the results reduce to those of Artemenko, Volkov, and Zaitsev, and of Kadin. We show that their result can conveniently be derived from a Boltzmann equation for the quasiparticles.
