Abstract

Förster energy transfer of molecules embedded in porous silicas has been studied. Controlled pore glasses with average pore size from 75 to 2000 Å gave a fractal dimension D=2.32±0.05, regardless of average pore size. In contrast, silica gels show a gradual increase in D, from 2.3 to 3, when the average pore size decreases.
