Abstract
The application of magnetic prospecting in archaeology is based on the differ magnetic properties of archaeological features and surrounding soil investigation is a rapid, economic and noninvasive method of studying n structure of archaeological sites. The magnetic investigation of archaeolo Israel is characterized by specific complicated factors of the survey condition to overcome these obstacles, a special system of observation, proce interpretation of magnetic data has been developed.
A high-precision magnetic survey was conducted at four prehistoric sites o In the present paper we demonstrate the application of the initial stage of the investigation: studying physical properties (Abu Gosh and Munhata) and r identification of anomalous objects at the Munhata and Kissufim Road sites. E preliminary data facilitate location of buried features and give a clue to unde the subsurface structure as well as the boundaries of the site.
