Abstract

The chameleon goby Tridentiger trigonocephalus (Gill, 1859) was found in Ashdod Harbor (Israel). This is the first record of this species in the Mediterranean. T. trigonocephalus is the third fish species directly human-mediated introduction (via ballast water in vessels) of a fish species into the Eastern Mediterranean and the sixth alien goby in this region.
