Abstract

The use of dermal hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers in the face, and in the periocular region in particular, continues to grow tremendously. In recent years, there has a been a rapid growth in the number of people performing filler injections, coupled with rapid growth of the filler market. With this increase in the number of injectors, across all specialties as well as non-physician injectors, comes an increasing number of complications. Thus, it is imperative for any filler injector to know how to recognize complications in the periocular area, as well as to know how to treat them should they occur.
