Abstract

The relationships between operational structures and imagery, as measured through the symbolic media of drawings, gestural indications, and verbalizations, were investigated. It was found that the symbolic media develop at different rates, there are different levels of difficulty for imagery tasks, and there is structural decalage. The complex interactions which result from the above did not always produce expected results. This was especially the case for intuitive and concrete operational structures and types of imaginai representation related to these structures.
