Abstract

In a double-blind study, imipramine and L-triiodothyronine (T₃) were compared with imipramine and placebo and with electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) given over a period of 5 wk to 12 female depressed patients divided into 3 groups. There was no significant difference between the antidepressant effects of the 3 modalities of treatment.
