N2 - The extraordinary Hall effect in magnetic films was studied. The physics and characterisation of the effect in heterogeneous and geometrically confined magnetic systems, use of the effect as a tool for the study of ultra thin films and nanoscopic magnetic objects and potential technical applications for magnetic sensors and memory devices were analyzed. Another phenomenon known as spin Hall effect was also studied.
