Experimental results on the velocity of second sound and the viscosity in dilute 3He-4He mixtures

Abstract

Resonance curves of a Helmholtz-type resonator have been measured in dilute 3He-4He mixtures in the temperature range between 100 mK and 650 mK, and at 3He molar concentrations between X = 0.173 × 10-2 and X = 1.00 × 10-2. The analysis of the resonator, which has been developed in a preceding paper [1], is used for an evaluation of the velocity of second sound and of the viscosity. The results are compared with those from other authors.
