Abstract

In this paper the problem of dust emission from belt conveyor transfer points is thoroughly examined. Different formulas and current design methods are reviewed, compared and analyzed. The sensitivity of exhaust volume requirements to the pertinent parameters is demonstrated. An analytical tool for exhaust volume calculations is offered. A discussion on the importance of a number of factors on dust enclosure designs is also presented.
