N2 - Reactions in which immobilized molecules are inactivated by mobile species represent a target-annihilation problem. For idealized, interpenetrating particles the decay follows an exact, closed form. Based on simulations, we also present the decay for the realistic situation of short-range repulsive interactions between like molecules and study the excluded volume effects.
