Abstract
Psychiatric manifestations appear in 50% of patients with bacterial endocarditis. In 8% of the cases they constitute the presenting symptom of the disease. Adequate antibiotic treatment leads to their disappearance. A 72-year-old patient with this disease who presented with apathy and periodic confusion is presented.
