Abstract

In Sec. IV of the manuscript,1 there is a sign error in the one-loop correction of the fugacity. The correct form of Eq. (80) should instead be (Formula Presented) The exact cancellation of the two terms occurs because we did not consider excluded volume effects. Taking these effects into account, by placing the ions and dipoles on a lattice, shows that both contribute to the dielectric decrement beyond the mean-field level. The complete analysis of this augmented one-loop correction has been recently published by us (together with Adar and Markovich).3 Our original conclusions with regard to the one-loop expansion are still valid as long they are applied to the more realistic lattice model. Finally, our mean-field analysis (Secs. II and III) is not affected by this mistake. We are grateful to R. Adar and T. Markovich for pointing out this error to us.
