Engineering the lasing properties and dynamics of Brillouin Fiber Lasers using pump modulation

Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally a self-stable, bi-frequency and switchable, Brillouin fiber laser at telecom wavelengths with engineered spectral properties. The spectral control is obtained by pump modulation while dynamic switching is achieved through the pump level.
